A Greatest Gatsby Party celebrating the “roaring 20s”. I had an invitation and was very excited. The glamour of the 1920s, the possibility to “doll up” – I really liked that idea. One thing, however, gave me headaches: the outfit. Finding a dress in the style of the 1920s in a dress size 52 (UK 24) is a challenge. I did some research on the internet and finally found the perfect solution: at Lady Gatsby London.
The Greatest Gatsby Party, a collaboration of the creative community COMEPASS and the magazine Maxima, took place in the chic Hilton Vienna Plaza. It was the highlight of a joint project based around five bloggers.

I got one of the popular golden tickets and was faced with a challenge: what will I wear? Where can I find a fitting dress that corresponds to the style of the 1920s – in my dress size? In Vienna it was not to be expected. That is why, as so often with special requests, the internet search began. I came across pictures of the last plus size Fashionweek in New York. At one of the fashion shows to see: beautiful designs of the brand Lady Gatsby London.

On the Gatsby Lady website, my gaze fell immediately on the Scarlet Flapper Dress. Embroidered over and over with pearls, beads and sequins and with long pearl strings, the dress is a really chic and sexy eyecatcher. It is short, but through the pearl strings (fringes) long enough not to be too short. Also particularly beautiful: the beads and sequins on the arms.
However what would the perfect dress be without the appropriate 20’s makeup? The wonderful Sophie Hinze has conjured up a special make-up. Dark eyes, long eyelashes and the typical lips in a dark purple-red tone completed the look. The matching hairstyle: water waves and please look at the back of my head..what a great hairstyle;). The crowning completion, which merges everything together perfectly: the handmade headband of the talented Edita Rosenrot.
A great night
The make-up, the accessories, the dress and the location, for one evening, we were all moved into the 20’s. Have celebrated, drunk and danced and just looked quite fabulous. Finally a little outtake (that actually was before the Champagne …).
